LED Education Center
JAC LED Lighting also wants to educate the public on LED Lighting. We will be hosting LED knowledge seminars at our retail store location in Dundee, Mi. We will also be posting technical details for customers to look out for when selecting LED light.
Some of the specifics to look for when selecting LED lights:
- Color temperature; 2700k,3000k, 4000k, 5000k, 6000k, etc. The higher the number the brighter the light. 2700k is a yellow, warm light, 6000k is a bright white with blue tint to it. 4000k/5000k are the typical lights used and what is best for human eyes
- The higher the lumens per watt the greater the light efficiency. As a standard, always use 100 lumens per watt as the bottom line for efficiency. Anything lower means the customer will not realize the full efficiency of the light needed for the environment. Competitors may have cheaper prices but their product is producing 85 lumens/watt. All of JAC LED Lighting products meet a minimum of 110 lumens/watt.
- When comparing warranties, compare apples to apples. JAC LED Lighting warranties are 5 to 10 years based on 24 hours of use per day. JAC LED products carry a minimum 5-year warranty and a life expectancy of 50,000 hours but 5 years totals 43,800 hours. If lights are only used 12 hours per day then the light is only used for 21,900 in that 5 years of warranty coverage. Based on life expectancy the client would get 10 years or more out of the product. Thought JAC LED does not cover beyond the 5 years, our products are designed that it could last up to 10 years in this situation identified.
JAC LED competitors base their warranties on 3 hours per day even though they identify 5 years coverage. Customers are hoping to reach the 5-year mark but typically its designed to fail by the end of the warranty.
